Tayla graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2015 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Financial Planning). Since then she has gone further and completed her studies as a Chartered Accountant of Australian and New Zealand. She has been working in accounting for five years in a variety of industries, including Medical, Construction, Hospitality, Online Retailers and Charities.
Tayla started with BDO on the Sunshine Coast in 2017 in the Business Services division, this included management accounting, compliance work, taxation, quarterly reporting, process improvement and more. After her transfer to the Brisbane office in 2019 she found her passion in client education, training, software and processing improvement. Since then she has moved in to the Management Accounting team at Consolid8.
Now as our Cloud Advisor she enjoys building positive relationships, understanding clients businesses and figuring out ways to optimise their processing to help grow their business.
1. What do you love about working at Consolid8?
I have only been part of the team for a short time, but the office is very warm and welcoming.
2. Tell us about your 'real world' experience
I have five years of experience in public practice accounting firms ranging from business services, tax compliance, quarterly reporting, management accounting, process improvement and client software training.
3. What do you do for fun?
I like shopping, catching up with friends and family, going to the beach and playing with my French Bulldog Pumba.
4. What is your secret talent?
I can fold my tongue into a Three-Leaf Clover, and I'm not bad at pool either.
5. If you weren't an awesome Accountant, what would you be?
I had never really thought about this before. Growing up I wanted to be a Vet, but I don't deal with blood very well.
6. What is your office claim to fame?
Office Christmas Decorations. I love getting into the Christmas spirit and I probably go way overboard but the smile and joy it brings to my colleagues faces makes it worth it.
7. What is at the top of your bucket list?
Travel the world and go to an AFL grand final.
8. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
Japan, I would love to go snowboarding again.
